On Wednesday, Cambodia and Thailand commenced talks expected to last four days to resolve their border clashes, according to Cambodian authorities. Thai media reported that Cambodian forces launched nighttime attacks along the border with Sangkai province (southeast), damaging many houses.
On Monday, Phnom Penh accused Thailand of "escalating shelling" in the Banteay Meanchey region (northwest). The Cambodian Ministry of Defense stated:
"from 6:08 to 7:15, the Thai F‑16s dropped at least forty bombs" in the town of Shuk-Bay.
Negotiations are ongoing.
